ShiftSpace →
We all recall Hoodwink.d: ShiftSpace is very similar in concept only it has a much more active participating and modifying design. The site is well designed, the product looks very interesting, and I can’t want to start modifying sites, even my own, and sharing the extra goodies with others on the meta web.
On Ruby: Holiday Blogging Contest →
A contest to get bloggers to produce great practical how-tos directly related to their personal cool projects with a chance to win free books. I am looking forward to the various articles that come out of this, so I’ll be watching the comments pretty closely. I’m thinking I might even write a post or two myself, though my current projects are a bit uninteresting to some extent.

Git to the rescue! I’ve actually been using Git for a few side projects of mine and am fairly satisfied with it. This is the best of both worlds.

The Simple Truth →
“The virtue of the pebbles is this; if we look into the bucket and see the bucket is empty of pebbles, we know the pastures are likewise empty of sheep. If we do not use the bucket, we must search and search until dark, lest one last sheep remain. Or if we stop our work early, then sometimes the next morning we find a dead sheep, for the wolves savage any sheep left outside. If we look in...

Squaring Zooko’s Triangle →
on LShift Ltd; very cool look at sharing public identity for security but also keeping it secure. Interesting methodology, perhaps I should write something to make the process easier?
NeoVictorian Computing →
by Mark Bernstein; a presentation on a new phase of programming, much like postmodern programming. Great points, and I feel very, very similarly regarding my own apathy towards any development at this time. (Then again, I should probably blame WoW too.)
Postmodern Programming →
on ElvisBrain; great reads on the future look of the philosophy of programming, and a good parallel to my outlook on reality and life.

Introduction to Utu and Ragel State Machines →
“Dammit this stuff is not hard, it’s just that nobody learns about state machines unless they take an obscure compiler design class. Very few universities teach state machines as a method of specifying the logic for a program. Even fewer cover Hierachical State Machines or State Charts.” A good overview of a novel idea and implementation and a good introduction to Ragel State...
